Expect a feeling a remoteness, a sense of calm, and a slower pace of life, yet within five minutes of the village cafes and five minutes from world renowned bushwalks.

We came for a weekend and stayed a week. The fire never went out, the coffee was better than any cafe in Sydney, and on the third morning a lyrebird sang outside the bedroom window. We have already booked again.

Where We Are

Blackheath, Blue Mountains

Hat Hill Cottage is in Blackheath, the highest village in the Blue Mountains. It's cooler than the towns below, quieter, and set amongst the best bushwalks. The train from Sydney stops here. The village has a couple of bakeries, a bookshop, and a pub that was established in 1833.
